Encouragement to Be Generous

For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has—not according to what one does not have.

I do not mean that there should be
relief for others and pressure on you,

but it is a question of a fair balance between
your present abundance and their need,

so that their abundance may be for your need,
in order that there may be a fair balance.
2 Corinthians 8:12-14 NRSV

Fresh Light

"Today marks the first day of Hanukkah, an eight day holiday for people who observe the Jewish faith.  Like most Jewish holidays, Hanukkah contains elements and traditions which were carried over into the Christian faith.  What I especially like about Hanukkah is the focus on light, which is so important to Christians during the season of Advent when candles are lit each week as we celebrate our season of waiting.  Hanukkah is not about waiting, though. Hanukkah is about celebrating God’s miraculous restoration of the Jewish Temple for worship of God." ~ Commentary by Pastor Bill TeWinkle

Why wait a moment more to restore some hope to the world?

Ready, Set....WAIT

Here are a couple of staples that are always flying off the shelves at Metro CareRing.  These items are needed EVERY DAY.   Participants who visit Metro CareRing always select a soup, an entree, peanut butter or tuna, a vegetables/fruit and a beverage, thus these items are essential to creating their meal and are always in high demand.

Applesauce
Dinty Moore Stew
Vegetables
Entrees - Chef Boyardee, etc.
Nuts
Tuna

As we enter into this season of Advent,
As we wait for the Christ Child to come,
Let us end the wait for those needing a meal.

Don't wait to share the hope and message of 12.12.12 with others today!
